The new Ferrari F450’s launch could happen only at the LA motor show late this year. The reason, Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo, ordering some last minute adjustments on the car. The sales of this car as an effect will begin only in the initial months of 2010.
Technical upgradation from the outgoing F430 is quite large. The new Ferrari F450 is also expected to carry a large number of engineering ideas and technologies from its Formula1 stable.
From the information released, the Ferrari F450 would come with radiators ahead of the front wheels, a double-clutch seven-speed transaxle gearbox from the California, understeer-canceling software and an upgraded version of the Scuderia’s traction control.
Although the F450 would employ cutting-edge technology, it will not bear any of those technologies which were patented by Ferrari recently. This includes the twin-turbo, direct-injection V8 petrol engines and all-wheel-drive hybrid technologies.
The new Ferrari F450 is said to made of aluminium for the sake of weight savings. Cutting out the weights negates the need for more power and fuel to travel a certain distance. The handling and emissions are likely to be better as well, just shaving off a few kilograms makes this car far better in all the criteria.
On questions of going hybrid, Ferrari is confident that buyers won't be interested in going hybrid for the time being and it has the capability to meet European emission standards till 2014, without the need to go hybrid.
